On behalf of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, our Board of Directors, Branches and Member Organizations it gives me great pleasure to welcome you on the historic occasion – the blessing of the newly located office of the Ukrainian Canadian Foundation of Taras Shevchenko.

Thank you for all your efforts relative to the extensive and expanding programs that touch the lives of so many individuals and organizations in our Ukrainian Canadian community.  Reading your report is an experience in itself, when you consider the number of those who would not have had the opportunity to develop their talents and share them with the community had it not been for the Foundation’s support.

Through your assistance our Ukrainian community has been nurtured and enriched and, indeed, Canada has been strengthened.

What began as a dream to build a vibrant cultural future for Ukrainian Canadians and to leave a legacy for future generations has become a reality, thanks to the leadership and foresight of numerous individuals throughout the past 43 years, as well as the support provided by the community.

I applaud the vision of the present board under the capable leadership of Andriy Hladeshewsky.  You have introduced some very unique programs that will continue to serve the community and nurture and promote our rich Ukrainian cultural heritage.

Even though we are now in different locations, the partnership that exists between the Foundation and the Congress continues as strong as ever and will, without a doubt, become even stronger.  The Ukrainian Canadian Congress is indeed proud of your accomplishments.  I extend our sincere best wishes for continued success and a glorious future.
