Letter from UCC President Paul Grod Re: 2008 Federal Election

Dear Ukrainian Canadians:

RE: 2008 FEDERAL ELECTIONS

Throughout this past year, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress has successfully advanced the goals and aspirations of our community with Canada’s decision makers. As part of this ongoing effort, the Congress continues to engage both elected Members of Parliament and candidates of various parties.

During the course of an election, I would like to make it abundantly clear that neither I nor the Congress endorse any political party or candidate. However, we encourage members of our community to support those candidates who have assisted the work of the Congress by consistently demonstrating their willingness to support our community in pursuit of its goals.

UCC is surveying all the candidates and parties for the 2008 Federal Election regarding important issues to the Ukrainian Canadian community. We will be publishing the results of this questionnaire before the election in various news media and on our web site. I encourage you to become familiar with those issues and to address them with the candidates in your riding.

In conclusion, I encourage you to make a difference during this federal election campaign by learning the issues, volunteering and voting.
