Memorandum of Cooperation Between the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sport of Ukraine and the Ukrainian World Congress Regarding support of Sport

On October 27, 2009, Ministry of Family, Youth and Sport of Ukraine and the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) in Kyiv signed a memorandum of cooperation in support of sport.

The memorandum states that the joint actions are aimed at creating conditions for establishing productive contacts between:

  • organizations of the Ukrainians abroad and Olympic teams of Ukraine in the preparing and participating in 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada, and 2012 Olympics in London, UK;
  • sports teams of Ukraine and the diaspora in conducting sport and recreation events;
  • organizations of Ukraine and the diaspora in the preparation and conducting of Ukrainian sports camps;
  • sports teams of Ukraine and the diaspora in promoting development and non-Olympic disciplines.

Memorandum was signed by the Minister of Family, Youth and Sport of Ukraine, Yuriy Pavlenko and the Head of the Sport Commission of the Ukrainian World Congress, Mykhaylo Hamaliy.

Eugene Czolij, the President of the UWC, has emphasized that this memorandum is an important step forward in further development of cooperation with Ukraine in the field of sport.
