UCC Information Bureau in Ottawa, headed by A. Hluchowecky, was opened October 1987.
The Congress approved change of name from the Ukrainian Canadian Committee to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.
The central office of the UCC experienced important staff changes. Mr. A. Yaremovich resigned as ED in 1984. Mr. G. Weretelnyk was appointed to this post in August 1985, however, he resigned in June 1986, Anne Wach, initially long time Executive Secretary, subsequently Assistant Executive Director, resigned June 1986. Lydia Hawryshkiw was appointed Executive Secretary in August 1986.
The office staff has been stabilized with the appointment of Mr. Wasyl Werbeniuk as Executive director in 1987 and the promotion of Lydia Hawryshkiw to Assistant Executive Director.
