Employment Opportunity – Executive Director

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC or Congress) is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated leader with a broad set of skills and experience to lead Canada’s national organized voice of the Ukrainian community.  The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the Congress and is a leader dedicated to the fulfillment of the Congress’ vision and mission and implementing the national policy and strategic direction of the Board of Directors and its Executive Committee.  The Executive Director is also a proven manager capable of directing the Congress’ operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the mission of the Congress
  • Ensure the Congress’ operations are fully funded and budget is responsibly managed
  • Persuasively communicate the work of the Congress to members, policy makers and public
  • Provide direct support to the Board, Board Executive and key committees.
  • In conjunction with the Board of Directors, direct the organization’s project agenda

Qualifications:

  • A keen understanding of the Ukrainian Canadian community in Canada
  • Demonstrated success in the continued growth of a substantial donor base
  • Considerable experience in the communication of ideas to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships across a variety of groups
  • Demonstrated success in the supervision and development of others
  • A willingness to travel
  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree
  • Fluency in oral and written Ukrainian with French as an asset
  • Experience with a not-for-profit or volunteer based organization

Location: Ottawa

Remuneration: Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience
