The Ukrainian Canadian Congress is pleased to announce that The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, will be the special guest and keynote speaker at the National Leaders Gala in Edmonton, Saturday, December 6, 2008.
Having just returned from a very emotional trip to Ukraine, Minister Kenney will share his experience as a participant in the 75th Anniversary Holodomor Commemorations in Kyiv. "We are very happy that Minister Kenney has made it a priority to attend this event and that he will to share his thoughts about both the Holodomor Commemorations in Kyiv and the passing of Holodomor Bill C-459 in Canada" stated Paul Grod, UCC President.
Included in the program that evening is a special awards presentation where leaders of the community will be acknowledged for their contributions and dedication.
The gala event follows the 'Create the Vision' National UCC Community Development workshop being held from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Decemer 6, 2008. The workshop is intended to provide organizations in the Ukrainian community with tools to more effectively run their organizations.
Registration for the workshop is open to any member of a Ukrainian organization, festival or school. The fee for the workshop is $100.00/per person.
