120^th Anniversary of Ukrainian Settlement in Canada (2011)

The mandate of the 120^th Anniversary committee is to review, propose and coordinate with UCC National, celebrations and activities across Canada to commemorate the 120^th anniversary of Ukrainian settlement in Canada.

Tasks include:

A) Create a theme for the 120^th commemorations linked to 120 years of shared Ukrainian Canadian experiences.

B) Assist UCC National with the coordination and promotion of commemorative events, particularly Ukrainian Day on the Hill.

C) Assist UCC National with the placement and promotion of a plaque at Pier 21 by UCC.

It is anticipated that the 125^th Anniversary in 2016 will be of a larger scope, therefore, the activities of this committee should focus on commemorative activities which tell the story of all waves of Ukrainian Canadians and provide branding and messaging for commemorative events, while focussing on a few marquis national 120^th Anniversary events such as Ukrainian Day on the Hill scheduled for October 24th 2011 and the plaque placement at Pier 21.
