“The World Congress is a valuable organization which we [UCC] are a key member,” stated Paul Grod, UCC National President. “We, together with the representatives of 32 other countries which represent the interests of over 20 million Ukrainians who live outside Ukraine, had an opportunity to discuss and debate key policy issues and review challenges and opportunities within our respective communities throughout the world.” It is the annual meeting of the leadership from the Ukrainian communities outside of Ukraine. The proceedings consisted of reports from World Congress President, Eugene Czolij, members of the Executive Committee, Committees and member organizations. Three important roundtable policy discussions were held on the following topics: -“Relations between the World Congress and Ukraine” or “Важливі питання, що стосуютьсяУкраїни, та подальші зв’язки СКУ з Україною” A number of new initiatives were discussed including the establishment of a World Congress representative office in Kyiv Ukraine, a World Congress Ukraine advisory council, comprised of the presidents of national organizations representing the diaspora around the world, to review and advise of key issues relating to the World Congress’ relationship with Ukraine. |
