Ottawa, Canada-April 30, 2011-The Ukrainian Canadian Congress surveyed political party leaders and candidates in order to find out where the various parties stand on issues of importance to the Ukrainian Canadian community such as immigration and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. “After consulting with our member organizations, the Congress surveyed the leaders from the political parties on issues of importance to our community including multiculturalism, Canada-Ukraine relations, immigration and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg,” stated UCC national president Paul Grod. “We are pleased to provide those results to help the community make informed decisions on Monday.” In addition, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress surveyed candidates from political parties on the important issue of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights: “Do you support the inclusion of a permanent and prominent gallery for the Holodomor (Ukrainian Famine genocide) of 1932-33 at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights?” “We are publishing the results of the candidate survey so that the Ukrainian Canadian community will be able to make informed decisions when they cast their ballots Monday. We encourage our community to support the local candidate or party that best represents their priorities,” concluded Grod. |
