Over the past week of sittings of the House of Commons, there have been a few specific references of interest to the Ukrainian Canadian community:
1) More petitions were tabled asking the government to ensure that the CMHR has a permanent and prominent display on the Holodomor and on Canada’s first national internment operations;
2) A member of Parliament asked how changes to the immigration act would impact a request for political asylum for example from Ukraine; and
3) A member of Parliament from Winnipeg commented on the success of the Ukrainian seniors facility in his riding.
