MONTREAL HOLODOMOR COMMEMORATION
Marking Holodomor Awareness Week, presentation of the Ukrainian-language documentary Okradena Zemlya by award-winning filmmaker Yurij Luhovy. Narrated by renowned Kyiv actor, Bohdan Beniuk, the film exposes Moscow’s policy of genocide against the Ukrainian nation. The film focuses on the Kremlin-engineered 1932-33 man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine and the accompanying decimation of the Ukrainian elite and destruction of Ukrainian culture. Based on testimonies of survivors, commentaries by historians and researchers, recently uncovered archival documents. Organized by UCC Montreal branch.
