UCC Featured Person: Roman Dubczak
Roman Dubczak is Managing Director and Head of Cash Equities,
Wholesale Banking with CIBC World Markets Inc
Roman Dubczak has grown up in the Ukrainian Canadian Community.
Having developed an interest for business early, Mr. Dubzcak completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Toronto and earned a Master of Business Administration from York University, as well as Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations.
Before joining CIBC, Mr. Dubczak worked in a variety of roles in the fields of corporate development, portfolio management and financial management, as well as general auditing.
Mr. Dubczak has held the position of Vice Chairman and Head of Equity Capital Markets at CIBC. In these roles, he was responsible for the firm’s equity origination and underwriting activities.
Currently, Mr. Dubczak is Managing Director and Head of Cash Equities, Wholesale Banking with CIBC World Markets Inc. In this role, he is responsible for sales, trading, prime brokerage, alternative execution services and research for CIBC’s cash equities business globally. He also shares responsibility for the Equity Capital Markets activities and is a member of the Wholesale Bank Management Committee as well as the firm’s Corporate Credit Deals Committee
Mr. Dubczakwas elected Chair of the prestigious Investment Industry Association of Canada and is a founding Director of the Canadian Association of Income Funds. Heis also the Director of DignitiasInternational; the CIBC Children’s Foundation and has been a Director and volunteer of several non-profit and charitable organizations.
Throughout his business career,RomanDubczak has maintained a high level of activity in the Ukrainian community both locally and nationally. Mr. Dubczak is actively involved in many councils and boards including membership of the Board of the Canada Ukraine Chamber of Commerce and is a former board member of the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre, The Children of Chornobyl Canadian Fund, Ukrainian Students Union (SUSK), and as Past President of the Ukrainian Canadian Professional and Business Association of Toronto. Currently Mr. Dubczak is a member of the UCC Advisory Council.

Mr. Dubczak’s knowledge and professionalism have made him a leader in Canada’s financial services industry and have contributed significantly to the success of the Ukrainian community in Canada.
