Vichnaya Yomu Pamyat – May His Memory Be Eternal
OLEKSA (aka ALEX) FEDOROWYCZ- In his 87th year, passed away at the Toronto East General Hospital on March 6, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Irena (nee Sadowyj) for 46 years. Loving father of Oksana Rewa (George) and Andrij (Helen). He will be profoundly missed by his grandchildren Oleksa, Stefan and Kyrylo Rewa and by his many nieces, nephews and godchildren in Canada and Ukraine. After retiring as a driver for the TTC, he rediscovered his love of music and joined the Prometheus Male Choir and the church choir of The Holy Protection of the Mother of God (Sv. Pokrovy).
His charming wit and warm smile endeared him to all those he met. We have learnt from him what is meant to have true courage and determination. Friends will be received at the Cardinal Funeral Homes “Bathurst Chapel” (366 Bathurst St., just north of Dundas St.) on March 9th and 10th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with Panachyda service at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Monday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the All Saints Chapel of St. Volodymyr’s Cemetery (1280 Dundas St W., Oakville, Ontario). Interment in St. Volodymyr Cemetery to follow.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregiver Pani Olha, the staff at the Toronto East General Hospital, especially the care team of J5 and Dr. Geordie Fallis. Memorial donations may be made to Toronto Ukrainian Charitable Fund, 208 – 145 Evans Ave., Toronto, or the Toronto East General Hospital Foundation, 825 Coxwell Ave., Toronto.
