KYIV, UKRAINE – The Ukrainian Freedom Fund strives to buy 10,000 sleeping bags beforeChristmas on the back of Canada’s large gift of winter clothing for Ukraine’s soldiers serving at the winter front.
Kyiv, Ukraine – The Ukrainian Freedom Fundis helping supply badly needed equipment to Ukraine’s soldiers in the Donbas. Thanks to the generosity of Canada, 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers will soon have winter clothing. However, only fifteen percent of front-line soldiers have sleeping bags: sleeping bags allow a frontline soldier to at least get some rest in between the assaults and the artillery and the cold. Without this badly needed sleep, our soldiers areprone to fatigue, misjudgment and twice as likely to become a casualty.
The UFFis asking donors to send $100 before December 12 to buy quality winter sleeping bag for each soldier. The sleeping bags will be directly delivered to soldiers at the front by volunteersworking with UFF – the wives, girlfriends, sisters and mothers who are sustaining the Army as it endures the extreme cold through the holiday season.
UFF Executive Director Alla Bronishevskaya noted: “This is a great opportunity for our donors to really make a difference. We are excited about getting even more involved in material support to the soldiers who need it most.10,000 sleeping bags will now be most appreciated Christmas giftsfor our soldiers.”
