As we gather with our families and friends to celebrate the holidays, please accept my warmest wishes for a joyful and blessed New Year and Christmas season. May the New Year bring peace, health and happiness to you and your loved ones.
This past year saw many successes and many new challenges for our Ukrainian Canadian community. We responded to events in Ukraine with a unified voice and with common purpose, not only within our own community but within the wider Canadian public.
It is in large part due to the efforts of the UCC, our member organizations, branches, volunteers and staff that we have been able to keep issues of importance to our community front and centre in Canada.
Thanks to your work, your resolve – we as a community have been able to secure from the Canadian government an unprecedented level of support for Ukraine. The last year has seen several high-level delegations, including Prime Minister Harper, visit Ukraine. Canada has committed millions of dollars in humanitarian and non-lethal military assistance to Ukraine. Canada is involved may programs that help Ukraine’s flourishing democracy further develop.
Our accomplishments would have been impossible without your selfless contributions and financial support. Our plans for 2015 will be successful because of your continued assistance.
