Thank you to our volunteers!
Celebrating National Volunteer Week 2019
April 8, 2019. As Canada celebrates National Volunteer Week, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) expresses heartfelt gratitude to all our tireless volunteers across the country. Together, we keep our community strong!
The theme of this year’s National Volunteer Week is ‘The volunteer factor – lifting communities’ that gives us a chance to once again recognize each and every one of our volunteers that give their time and energy to grow our traditions, language and culture, contributing to the essential fabric of Canadian society. They are determined in their efforts to help Ukraine, whether it’s by advocating for Ukrainian issues before the Government of Canada, raising funds and sending supplies to those in need, or being an elections observer.
“It is through the efforts of our volunteers that the voice of Ukrainian Canadians remains strong”, stated Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the UCC. “Your commitment and generosity continue to inspire us all. On behalf of the UCC, Thank you! Дякуємо!”
On November 1-3, 2019, our community leaders will be coming to Ottawa for the XXVI Triennial Congress of Ukrainian Canadians set the direction for the Ukrainian Canadian community and elect its leadership for the next three years. This is another opportunity for us to recognize our volunteers through Shevchenko Medal, UCC Leadership Awards of Excellence and the Ukrainian Canadian Youth Leadership Awards of Excellence.
