The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) is pleased to present an online lecture and Q and A session – Russian Disinformation: Structures and Strategies, on June 1 at 12 PM EST by Alexa Pavliuc, MSc, London Lead at Ryerson University’s Faculty of Communication and Design. Alexa Pavliuc is a Ukrainian Canadian disinformation network researcher and data science educator. Alexa’s work on Russian disinformation operations has been published by the NATO Defence Strategic Communications Journal and has been featured by CBC News. Alexa has provided advisory support in devising tools to detect and understand disinformation to both the Canadian Government and the European Union.
Alexa will speak about her research on Russian disinformation efforts in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Alexa obtained an MSc in Data Science from City, University of London, and a BA in Professional Communication with a Minor in Physics from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. She currently teaches data science at a British corporate technology education firm, Decoded, and represents Ryerson University’s Faculty of Communication and Design in London, UK.
There will be a Q and A session following the lecture. Questions may also be emailed ahead of time to nationaloffice@ucc.ca
