Background
The UCC Parliamentary Internship Program was re-established in 2017, thanks to the generous support of the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada, including intern training by the Paul Yuzyk Institute for Youth Leadership, and many individual donors.
The renewal of the program has been made possible through the generous support of major donors, including the Shevchenko Foundation Ukrainian Canadian Veterans Fund, the Ukrainian National Federation and the Ukrainian Credit Union Ltd. We also sincerely thank and recognize the generous support of Paul & Adrianna Grod, Oleh & Bozhena Iwanusiw and many other individual donors. For the full list of supporters of the UCC Parliamentary Internship Program, please see here.
In February 2020, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) was pleased to honour His Excellency Roman Waschuk, former Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine, and his spouse Oksana Smerechuk were honoured at a Tribute Dinner. Proceeds from the Tribute Dinner went to the Roman Waschuk & Oksana Smerechuk Fund within the UCC Charitable & Educational Trust, which supports the UCC Parliamentary Internship Program, as well as to the UCC Community Development Fund, which supports important community programming initiatives.
