Twenty years ago, the deadliest terrorist attacks in the history of the United States took nearly 3,000 innocent lives, among them twenty-four Canadians.
Today, the Ukrainian Canadian community joins in solemn remembrance and mourning for the innocent victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. We honour the heroism of the First Responders, whose bravery and selflessness saved many lives on that terrible day.
The Canadian and American people share a unique bond of kinship born from a common commitment to the values of freedom and democracy. We have no closer friend, no greater ally than the American people. Today we share the grief and pain of our American sisters and brothers.
We ask God to protect the brave men and women of the Canadian and American Armed Forces, who together courageously serve our nations to protect our liberty and our way of life.
May the Memory of the Victims Be Eternal! Вічная Пам’ять!
