September 20, 2021. OTTAWA, ON. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) encourages all Canadians to vote in the 2021 Federal Election today.
“As Canadians, we should be proud of our democracy and grateful for the right to freely choose our political leaders. By exercising our democratic right to vote we honour the Canadians whose sacrifice and commitment to duty ensured that we may live in freedom,” stated Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the UCC. “The UCC encourages all members of our Ukrainian Canadian community, and all Canadians, to make their voice heard in today’s federal election.”
The UCC, representing the 1.4-million strong Ukrainian Canadian community, is a non-partisan organization and does not endorse parties or candidates. Recently, the UCC surveyed Canada’s national party leaders on issues of importance to our community, including:
- Strengthening Canada-Ukraine Defence and Security Relations
- Supporting Democratic and Economic Reform in Ukraine
- Ensuring Quality, Safe and Affordable Care for Seniors
- Welcoming Newcomers to Canada
- Helping Our Culture Flourish
- Fighting Online Hate and Disinformation
