One hundred days ago, Russia began a barbaric, unprovoked assault against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
Russian rockets and artillery rain down upon Ukrainian cities, destroying schools, hospitals and homes. Russian soldiers rape, rob and murder innocent civilians. Russia seeks the destruction of the Ukrainian state and the Ukrainian people. This is Genocide.
The Ukrainian people have responded to the call to defend their homes with courage and unity. The world is in awe of the bravery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who will drive the Kremlin scourge from their land.
The past 100 days have tested the will and resolve of the Ukrainian people to unimaginable limits. The next 100 days will be even harder but Ukraine will prevail with the help of its friends.
We are grateful to the millions of Canadians whose generosity provides much needed aid and we take comfort in the knowledge that we are not alone. We are especially grateful to the volunteers in our Ukrainian Canadian community whose tireless work and unflagging spirit inspire and energize.
The Ukrainian people pay with the lives of their best daughters and sons for the freedom not only of Ukraine, but of the entire European continent. They deserve the full support of all nations who value liberty. We call on our government and the governments of all democratic states to provide Ukraine with the weapons and the economic aid they urgently need.
The Book of Psalms teaches – Scatter the nations that delight in War. We are certain that one day soon, the Russian invader will be driven from Ukrainian land, and the blue and yellow Ukrainian flag – the Standard of Freedom – will fly over Ukrainian Sevastopol, Kherson, Mariupol, Donetsk and Luhansk.
Let us do all we can to bring that day – the day of triumph of light over darkness, of good over evil – ever closer.
Слава Україні! Героям Слава!
