In 105 days, hundreds of delegates from across Canada will gather for the twenty-seventh Triennial Congress held this year in Winnipeg – home of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.
The Triennial Congress comes at a critical time when our Ukrainian sisters and brothers are defending their homeland from Russia’s genocidal war. “The theme of this year’s Congress – Stronger Together – В Єдності Сила – Tous Ensemble – underpins the UCC’s mission, which is now, more than ever, necessary to put into action,” stated Ann Szuptur, Chair of the XXVII Triennial Congress Organizing Committee.
Delegates will be able to attend plenaries, workshops and discussions on our community’s role in helping Ukraine win this war.
The main plenary session topics will include:
· The Impact of the War on Human Rights in Ukraine
· Canada and Ukraine – Working Together
· The Rebuilding of Ukraine
· UCC’s mission in 2022 in the Context of War and Displaced Persons
· Ukraine and the World – How Russia’s War is Impacting Geopolitics
Each Congress, the exceptional contributions to the Ukrainian-Canadian community by individuals and organizations are recognized. “We have seen tremendous community leadership during these challenging times,” stated Olesia Luciw-Andriyowycz, Chair of the Awards Committee. “The Congress is an opportunity to honour our leaders through the Taras Shevchenko Medal, National Leadership Award and Youth Leadership Award.”
