August 15, 2022. OTTAWA, ON – The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lesia M. Skyba as the new National Fundraising Manager starting Monday August 22, 2022.
“I am very pleased to welcome Lesia to the UCC team,” stated Ihor Michalchyshyn, UCC’s CEO. “I am very confident in Lesia’s abilities and that she will play a key role in our fundraising initiatives. She brings a wealth of experience and many years of community involvement, which will help ensure the financial sustainability of our organization and many UCC programs and projects. Вітаємо!”
Ms. Skyba received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Western Ontario in Psychology, History, and English. She also earned a Recreation and Leisure diploma from Fanshawe College. She is fluent in English and Ukrainian.
Ms. Skyba brings 30 years of community experience to her role with UCC. She previously worked as a Recreation Director at Ashwood Manor Retirement Home where she planned and facilitated large and small-scale events. She also has experience as a community volunteer, serving on the board of directors of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada Foundation (UOCCF) Marketing Committee and the Ukrainian Women’s Association of Canada (UWAC). She also served on the Consistory Board of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada (UOCC).
Ms. Skyba will be responsible for the smooth operation of the UCC’s fundraising initiatives, including donor stewardship and enhancing relations with private and corporate donors. She will work closely with the UCC’s Fundraising Committee to maximize the revenue of future events and campaigns.
