Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, issued the following statement in response to the adoption by the US House of Representatives of a critically important $60 billion Ukraine assistance package:
The critical military aid passed today by the US House – once passed by the Senate and signed by the President – will allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to continue the courageous defence of their homeland and European liberty from Russian tyranny. We express our gratitude to the American people for this vital assistance to Ukraine.
Opinion poll after opinion poll demonstrate the strong support of the Canadian people for aiding Ukraine’s courageous battle for freedom. We call on the Canadian government to substantially increase military assistance to Ukraine.
Ukraine’s fight is our fight. Ukraine must win. Russia must lose.
