Today, President Biden signed into law the National Security supplemental, which passed both Houses of Congress with massive bipartisan majorities. The US aid package provides over $60 billion in aid for Ukraine. President Biden stated today that military aid will start flowing to Ukraine within hours.
We call on the Canadian government and all allies to follow suit and to immediately and substantially increase military assistance to Ukraine. As President Zelenskyy stated, “The key now is speed.”
The critical US aid will allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to continue to defend Ukraine against Russia’s genocidal war. Together with the over 500 million British pounds in military aid announced by UK Prime Minister Sunak yesterday, and commitments by other states– Ukraine’s allies are stepping up. We call on Canada to join our allies and commit to Ukraine’s victory not only in word, but in deed.
