October 10, 2024. OTTAWA, ON. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) is pleased that Bill S-276, An Act respecting Ukrainian Heritage Month has passed the committee stage and will be reported to the Senate. The UCC calls on Parliament to swiftly adopt this important legislation.
Bill S-276 would establish September as Ukrainian Heritage Month in Canada. The UCC is grateful to Senator Stan Kutcher, the sponsor of the Bill, and Senator Donna Dasko, who presented the Bill to the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology. The Committee completed its clause-by-clause review of the Bill on October 9.
