While marking this significant milestone in Edmonton, the delegation also visited Calgary and Red Deer, where they connected with local Ukrainian communities, engaged with leaders, and explored innovative ideas for the future of the Ukrainian Canadian community.
Community Engagement in Calgary

A highlight of the Calgary agenda was the Women Leadership Power Morning, an inspiring gathering of businesswomen, newcomers, and community leaders. The event featured a moderated discussion, a Q&A session, and networking, creating a space for participants to exchange ideas and foster connections. It was especially moving to see the room filled with newcomer businesswomen eager to drive change and become integral members of the Ukrainian Canadian community. Their passion and determination were truly inspiring.UCC Youth Ambassador Anhelina Taran played a pivotal role in hosting this successful event, with invaluable support from the Women’s Club.

In Red Deer, UCC leaders met with local community representatives from the Ridna Shkola at the cozy Ukrainian C-ZONE Coffee House. The discussions focused on the education initiatives driving community development, with a particular emphasis on the challenges faced by Ukrainian language schools and cultural programs. The group explored ways the UCC can support and empower these initiatives, fostering collaboration and sharing resources to overcome obstacles and strengthen the educational foundations of the Ukrainian Canadian community in the region.

Celebrating 50 Years of UCC-APC
