On August 24, communities across Canada proudly came together to mark the 34th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence. From coast to coast, Canadians joined Ukrainian Canadians in celebrating this milestone with flag-raising ceremonies, cultural performances, parades, and community gatherings.
These events not only honored Ukraine’s declaration of independence in 1991 but also highlighted the deep and enduring ties between Canada and Ukraine. Participants paid tribute to Ukraine’s resilience, rich culture, and the countless contributions of Ukrainian Canadians to the fabric of Canadian society.

Across cities and towns, the blue and yellow flag of Ukraine flew alongside the Canadian flag, symbolizing solidarity and friendship. The celebrations also served as a reminder of Canada’s steadfast support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, freedom, and democratic future.
Slava Ukraini!
