Each September, Canadians recognize Ukrainian Heritage Month, a time to reflect on the enduring legacy and invaluable contributions of Ukrainian Canadians to our country.
For more than 134 years, Ukrainian immigrants and their descendants have enriched Canada’s cultural fabric, strengthened our communities, and contributed to every aspect of national life, from agriculture and business to education, politics, and the arts. Today, over 1.4 million Canadians proudly trace their roots to Ukraine, making Ukrainian Canadians one of the largest ethnocultural communities in our nation.

Ukrainian Heritage Month is an opportunity not only to celebrate the traditions, language, and vibrant cultural expressions of Ukraine, but also to reaffirm the deep ties of friendship between Canada and Ukraine. It is a time to honor the resilience, courage, and spirit of a community that continues to inspire and shape Canada’s diverse society.
Slava Ukraini!
