The Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the Ukrainian War Veterans Association of Canada were honoured to present the Ukrainian Canadian Sacrifice Medal to the family of Canadian Hero Kyle Porter in a solemn ceremony on November 29 in Calgary, Alberta.

Kyle Ronald Porter, of Alberta, served with Ukraine’s International Legion. He was killed in action in April 2023 near Bakhmut, Donetsk oblast, fighting in defence of Ukraine’s freedom. He has been decorated for courage by Ukraine. Kyle Porter was 27 years old.
