February 2, 2026. OTTAWA, ON. Yesterday Russia attacked Ukrainian civilians in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions – striking a civilian bus outside Pavlohrad and a maternity hospital in Zaporizhzhia. At least 15 civilians were murdered by Russia in the strike on the civilian bus and at least 9 people were injured in the Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia.
Throughout the day yesterday Russia murdered at least 15 Ukrainian civilians and injured at least 38 in hundreds of drone and missile attacks throughout Ukraine. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) joins the Ukrainian people in mourning. May The Memory of the Victims Be Eternal. Вічная Пам’ять.
“Russia murders Ukrainian civilians in terrorist attacks on Ukrainian cities and towns every day. How long will Ukraine’s allies turn a blind eye to this Russian terror? Russia’s terror must be met with a strong response from world leaders,” stated Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the UCC. “Provide Ukraine the air defence systems necessary to defend Ukrainian skies. We call on Canada to demonstrate leadership to other countries and designate Russia a terrorist state.”
