The Ukrainian Canadian Congress awards the Shevchenko Medal to Lesia Szwaluk in recognition of her dedicated community activism in various Ukrainian Canadian organizations, and especially for her outstanding leadership in the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the Ukrainian Youth Association of Canada.
