
Peter Kule

Dr. Peter Kule was born in Striatyn, present-day Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast on January 6, 1921. He completed his elementary and secondary education in Ukraine and emigrated to Canada at the age of seventeen with his mother and brothers. After landing in Halifax on 28 December 1938, the family reunited with Peter’s father, who had preceded them abroad, and had settled in Two Hills, Alberta, northeast of Edmonton. Quickly picking up English and then apprenticing as an accountant, by 1944 Peter had launched a successful practice as a public accountant in Edmonton. In 1950 Mr. Kule was joined by John Peach, CA to form Kule Peach & Co. Today the firm is frown as Kule Pasnak Anderson, the largest independent accounting firm in Canada.
Dr. Doris Kule (nee Radesh), the daughter of Bukovynian immigrants, was born on a farm near Willingdon, Alberta on January 1, 1921. She completed grades one to nine in Boian, Alberta [,] and completed high school in Hairy Hill. Doris Kule received her teaching certificate from Camrose Normal School. Her first teaching assignment Was in rural Alberta at Shalka School in 1943, teaching grades one to four. She began teaching at Beverly Heights Elementary School in 1945 where she taught for 34 years.
Peter and Doris were married in 1944 and Doris was a full partner from the beginning of Peter’s accounting practice. Now retired, the couple have been long-time members of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church nod have served on the boards of several organizations associated with the cathedral parish and the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton. Peter became a trusted financial advisor to the Edmonton 3pnrchy under four different bishops and was active over the years with the Ukrainian Credit Union movement in Aberta.
