➥ September 16: Going out safely during COVID-19
Інформація від уряду Канади про рівень та фактори ризику під час виходу на вулицю. На рівень ризику зараження впливають замкненість просторів, тривалість контакту, з’юрмлення, інтенсивність видихання повітря людьми (крик, спів, кашель).
Information from the Government of Canada about risk factors and levels when going outside. Risk level for exposure is impacted by closed spaces, prolonged exposure time, crowds, forceful exhalation (yelling, singing, coughing).
➥ September 9: COVID-19 guidance for schools Kindergarten to Grade 12
The following guidance was created by the Government of Canada and is directed to administrators of schools from kindergarten to grade 12 (K-12) and local public health authorities (PHAs) in jurisdictions where these schools exist.
The guidance is not prescriptive in nature, rather, it supports administrators and PHA’s to consider potential risks and mitigation strategies associated with the resumption of in-school classes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
➥ September 9: Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB)
Final eligibility period for the CESB is August 2 to August 29, 2020.
All applications for the CESB must be submitted before September 30, 2020.
➥ Extension of the Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance
Уряд Канади оголосив про чергове (і цього разу останнє) продовження Програми Екстренної Допомоги Комерційним Орендодавцям. Уряд пропонує позику на суму 50% від вартості оренди вашого малого бізнесу. Позики не підлягатимуть поверненню, якщо орендодавець дотримається усіх умов програми, включаючи обовязок не вимагати відшкодування орендарем “прощеної суми” орендної плати після закінчення програми.
Over the course of the program, property owners will reduce rent by at least 75 % for the months of April, May, June, July, August and September for their small business tenants. CECRA will cover 50 % of the rent, with the tenant paying up to 25 % and the property owner forgiving at least 25 %.

➥ September 2: Extension of the Canada Emergency Business Account
The CEBA loan application deadline is extended to October 31!
CEBA provides interest-free loans of up to $40,000 to small businesses and not-for-profits, to help cover their operating costs—such as rent, utilities and insurance—during a period where their revenues have been temporarily reduced. These loans are partially forgivable as repaying the balance of the loan on or before December 31, 2022 will result in loan forgiveness of 25 percent
(up to $10,000).
➥ August 26: Extension of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy
The Government of Canada will be transitioning to a simplified Employment Insurance (EI) program, effective September 27, 2020, to provide income support to those who remain unable to work and are eligible, and introducing a new suite of temporary and taxable recovery benefits to further support workers.
Уряд Канади продовжує вживати заходів для підтримки канадців та захисту робочих місць під час тривалої пандемії COVID-19. Перезапускаючи економіку країни, уряд перейде до спрощеної програми страхування зайнятості (EI), яка входить в дію з 27 вересня 2020 року. Для забезпечення підтримки громадян, на працевлаштування котрих вплинула пандемія, CERB буде продовжено ще на чотири тижні, що в загальній кількості складатиме 28 тижні.
➥ August 19: Canada Revenue Agency cyber security alerts
Scammers posing as Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) employees continue to contact Canadians, misleading them into paying false debt. These persistent scammers have created fear among people who now automatically assume that any communication from someone representing the CRA is not genuine
➥ August 19 – Covid-19 and mental health
A pandemic is a very stressful event for individuals and communities. It’s normal to feel some stress and anxiety. It’s also very common for people to display great resiliency during times of crisis
We should remember that this is absolutely the time to lean on each other. Even if we can’t be close physically, we need to stay close emotionally. So, while you’re staying in, stay in touch with each other, and reach out if you need support.
The CMHA has put together some resources and suggestions to help support your mental health at this time of uncertainty.

➥ August 14: Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy program updates
The Government of Canada has launched the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) calculator.
Through a step-by-step approach, the calculator will provide employers with an estimate of the subsidy they can receive.
In addition, CRA will open applications for CEWS Period 5 on August 17, 2020.
➥ August 5: Beware of CERB scams
If you get a text message saying you received a deposit for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit. Beware it is a scam!
Do not reply or click on the link, delete the text and warn others.
➥ August 5: COVID Alert app is ready to download
The Government of Canada has launched the COVID Alert app last week.
The app is supposed to inform its users whether their phone has been close to the person, who has later tested positive for the Covid-19 and shared such data.
The app promises to avoid collecting and storing personal data and instead operating based on phone locations as relative to each other only.

➥ Supporting mental health needs of Canadians
Wellness Together is a health and substance use website launched in response to growing mental health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The website provides immediate text support, resources as well as individual counselling programs.
