“What an incredible day at Congress! After liturgy, there was a Svichka Mollynnia, followed by Taras Shevchenko foundation briefing, followed by one on the Kobzar literary awards.
The congress then considered several motions to guide our mandate over the next three years. Finally a Board of Directors and executive were elected – I swore the oath of office on an Ostrova Bible replica which was presented to UCC by Ambassador Daniel Caron. We concluded the Congress, launched the President’s Circle fundraising strategy, and held our first meeting of the new board of Directors. The day concluded with a remembrance ceremony at Edmonton’s Holodomor Memorial.”
