Paul Yuzyk Award for Multiculturalism
The Paul Yuzyk Award for Multiculturalism is an initiative that recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to multiculturalism and to the integration of newcomers in Canada. One award recipient is chosen every year in one of the following two categories:
*   Lifetime Achievement: Open to individuals who have demonstrated ongoing dedication to promoting a strong multicultural society in Canada over a period of at least ten years. OR
*   Outstanding Achievement: Open to individuals or groups who have made a significant contribution to Canadian multiculturalism for at least one year within the last five years.
The winner will receive a certificate of honour signed and presented by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism. In addition, he or she will choose an eligible, registered, not-for-profit Canadian organization or association to receive a $20,000 grant. Nominations are now being accepted from the public.
To be considered for the 2012 award, nominations must be postmarked by March 1, 2012. The award is open to all Canadian citizens and permanent residents. For more information on the award, eligibility requirements and the nomination process, please visit: Paul Yuzk Award
Le Prix Paul YuzykLe Prix Paul Yuzyk pour le multiculturalisme est une  initiative qui reconnaît les personnes qui ont apporté des contributions exceptionnelles au multiculturalisme et à l’intégration de nouveaux arrivants au Canada. Un lauréat est choisi chaque année dans l’une des deux catégories suivantes :
*   Ensemble des réalisations : Ouvert aux personnes qui ont fait preuve de dévouement continu envers la promotion d’une société multiculturelle solide au Canada durant au moins dix ans. OU
*   Réalisation exceptionnelle : Ouvert à une personne ou à un groupe qui a apporté une contribution significative au multiculturalisme canadien pour au moins un an au cours des cinq dernières années.
Le lauréat recevra un certificat d’honneur signé et présenté par le ministre de la Citoyenneté, de l’Immigration et du Multiculturalisme. De plus, une subvention de 20 000 $ sera versée à une organisation ou association sans but lucratif, enregistrée et admissible, choisie par le lauréat.
Les mises en candidature des membres du public sont maintenant acceptées. Pour qu’une mise en candidature soit considérée en vue du prix de 2012, celle-ci doit nous parvenir au plus tard le 1er mars 2012, le cachet de la poste faisant foi. Ce prix est ouvert à tous les citoyens canadiens et aux résidents permanents.
