One of the most rewarding parts of my job as a professional fundraiser is being able to connect with the donor, thereby learning more about them. I enjoy speaking with donors and learning why they are passionate about our cause.
Recently, I had the pleasure to speak with one of our donors from Regina, SK., Mr. Donald G. Robinson. While he may not be Ukrainian, he has a few Ukrainian friends, a good self-learned knowledge of our culture and history, and a willingness to learn even more. Mr. Robinson travelled to Ukraine a few times to experience the country firsthand and learn about Ukraine and its people. He told me that every time he visited Ukraine, he was impressed with the kindness of the people and their determination in their struggles. In Canada, his engineering company participated in an engineering exchange program for students.
As to why he donates to UCC National, he told me that he is impressed with our work and the strength of our Ukrainian Canadian community. He appreciates the fact that we continue to celebrate and promote our heritage, that we stay connected and care about Ukraine, and when we use our voice on the national level, we do so without being political.
THANK YOU, Mr. Robinson, for your candid talk, your financial support, and your trust in our work!
