This workshop will provide an introduction to archives and archival practice in the Canadian context. It offers an overview and general understanding of the archival processes necessary to have intellectual and physical control of archival materials. This workshop is intended for participants that may work with archival collections or be responsible for their institution’s archives, but may not have formal knowledge of how archives operate. This workshop serves as an introduction and foundation for future workshops that will cover individual topics in more depth.
This workshop is offered jointly by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress National Archives Committee, and the Sustainable Ukrainian Canadian Heritage program at the Kule Folklore Centre, University of Alberta.
