Ukraine’s TCH/ICTV report
July 8, 2024. OTTAWA, ON. On the morning of July 8, Russia carried out a criminal, barbaric attack on Ukraine. Russia struck civilian targets in Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro and other cities with over 40 missiles and rockets. At least 27 people have been killed and over 100 injured in Russia’s terrorist attacks.
In Kyiv, Russia targeted Okhmadyt Children’s Hospital – Ukraine’s largest children’s medical center. Russia also targeted the Isida Maternity Hospital in Kyiv.
“There are no acts of depravity to which Russia will not sink. We join the Ukrainian people in mourning the many innocent victims of the terrorist attacks Russia committed today. May the Memory of the Victims Be Eternal. Вічная Пам’ять,” stated Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC). “Canada and our allies still refuse to recognize Russia for what it is – a terrorist state committing genocide. Russia is deliberately murdering Ukrainian children and terrorizing Ukraine’s population. NATO leaders are meeting in Washington tomorrow. We call on Canada and allies to provide Ukraine with the air defences necessary to protect Ukrainian skies. Every day, delays and indecisiveness are costing Ukrainian lives.”
Thousands of children from all over Ukraine, who are suffering cancer, hematological diseases and other serious health conditions, are treated every year at Okhmadyt. The attack on the Isida Maternity Hospital is the second instance of the deliberate targeting of Ukrainian mothers and their newborn and unborn children.
