January 9, 2025. OTTAWA, ON. Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), issued the following statement in response to the announcement of additional Canadian military assistance to Ukraine by the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence:
The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) welcomes the $440 million in military assistance to Ukraine announced today by Minister Blair at the Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting.
The support – dedicated primarily to large calibre ammunition and the production of military drones – will greatly assist the courageous men and women of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in defending Ukraine and freedom in Europe from Russia’s genocidal aggression.
Particularly during this time of political uncertainty in both the United States and Canada, ensuring predictable and comprehensive support for Ukraine’s war effort is critical. The UCC is grateful to Minister Blair for his steadfast commitment to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
