OTTAWA, ON. On January 22, Ukrainians mark the Day of Unity of Ukraine. On January 22, 1919, the Unification Act, uniting Ukrainian lands into a single, independent state, was proclaimed.
Almost three years ago, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, seeking to destroy the Ukrainian state and annihilate the Ukrainian people. Defending Ukraine’s freedom and the freedom of Europe, the Ukrainian people valiantly stand as one. All Ukrainians contribute to a common purpose – Ukraine’s Victory.
The UCC encourages all Canadians to participate in Unity Day activities in their communities, join events, and share messages about this day on social media to stand in solidarity with Ukraine during this critical time. Unity Day is not only an opportunity to celebrate Ukraine’s unity but also a moment to reflect on the shared values of liberty and justice that bring us together.
On this Day of Unity, we honour all those who have fallen defending Ukraine’s freedom. We unite in the hope that this year will be the year of Ukrainian Victory. We Stand With Ukraine.
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to Her Heroes!
Слава Україні!
Героям Слава!
