Her legacy lives on in the many people she positively impacted during her lifetime of service to our community. May Her Memory Be Eternal. Вічная Пам’ять.”
Lesia Szwaluk dedicated her life to serving the Ukrainian community. She served in many leadership roles with distinction – including as President of the UCC Manitoba Provincial Council for many years.
She was the Executive Director of the Taras Shevchenko Foundation for almost 20 years – where her contribution to the growth and development of Ukrainian art and culture in Canada were immeasurable.
Upon her retirement in 2019, the Shevchenko Foundation established the Lesia Szwaluk Volunteer Leadership Award Designated Fund, which supports outstanding young adults volunteering in the Ukrainian Canadian community.
