June 24, 2025. OTTAWA, ON. Today, Russia murdered 15 Ukrainian civilians and injured at least 170 in a terror attack on Dnipro.
Russia fired missiles at a passenger train, in which over 500 civilians were travelling, a dormitory, a gymnasium and other civilian infrastructure.
May the Memory of the Victims Be Eternal. Вічная Пам’ять.
“Russia is emboldened by the indecisive and irresolute response of Ukraine’s allies to Russia’s terror-bombing. Russia will keep murdering Ukrainian civilians until there are serious consequences for Russia’s barbarism,” stated Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC). “NATO leaders are meeting today and tomorrow. We call on NATO leaders to provide Ukraine with the air defences to stop Russian terror and to implement sanctions that will crush Russia’s war machine once and for all.”
The UCC calls on the heads of state and governments of NATO to:
- Support Ukraine. Substantially increase weapons and ammunition deliveries to Ukraine and keep providing Ukraine with economic and financial support.
- Support Justice. Substantially increase sanctions on Russia, apply secondary sanctions to countries doing business with Russia’s shadow fleet and declare Russia a terrorist state
- Make Russia Pay. Seize the $300 billion in Russian assets held in Western institutions and provide these funds to Ukraine for defence and reconstruction.
