UCC Parliamentary Interns Larysa and Volodymyr share their impressions from the first days
In our last couple orientation days, I’ve already learned so much about the valuable projects that UCC works on, and it has been very interesting to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the UCC builds relations between Canada and Ukraine, and strengthens the Ukrainian-Canadian community. I have a strong interest in politics and a background in Canadian foreign relations, so I’m looking forward to seeing how daily life on the Parliament Hill works, and how policies are debated, decided, and implemented.

We are off to a great start in Ottawa!
Stepping into the role of a Parliamentary Intern equals to becoming a representative of the UCC and the entire Ukrainian Canadian community on the Hill. In our first couple of days we have been presented with a lot of details of a day-to-day work of the Congress. It was particularly interesting for me to learn about activities of UCC-National while comparing them to my local branch, where I am a Board Director. Now, we are ready to meet MPs and their teams. More to come!
