June 5, 2025. OTTAWA, ON. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) welcomes the second reading of Senator Stan Kutcher’s Ukraine Heritage Month bill. The UCC calls for the Bill’s swift adoption by the Senate and House of Commons.
Bill S-210, An act respecting Ukrainian Heritage Month, when adopted, will designate September of every year as Ukrainian Heritage Month in Canada.
“We are grateful to Senator Kutcher for introducing this important legislation. The Ukrainian people are courageously fighting in defence of democracy and freedom against Russia’s genocidal war of aggression,” stated Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the UCC. “The values for which the Ukrainian people fight are values that Canada also cherishes. This is the basis of the bond between our two peoples. It is all the more important for us to remember the culture, traditions and heritage that Ukrainians heroically defend today.”
