July 8, 2026. OTTAWA, ON. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) and National President Alexandra Chyczij are pleased to announce the appointment of Danylo Korbabicz as the Chief Executive Officer of the UCC.
“We are excited to welcome Danylo as the new UCC CEO,” stated Alexandra Chyczij, National President of the UCC. “Danylo brings with him an impressive professional record – particularly in public policy and government relations. He has been an active volunteer and contributor to our community since his youth and brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise that will be important assets to the UCC and to our community.”
Over his career, Danylo Korbabiczhas advised two Members of Parliament, three Cabinet Ministers, the Premier of Ontario, the Leader of the Government in the Senate, and a former Canadian Prime Minister. This experience has provided him with deep insights into federal and provincial decision-making processes. He has also spent over a decade in corporate Canada first with a multinational law firm and later leading a practice with one of Canada’s leading government and public relations firms.
In the community, Mr. Korbabicz was a long-serving board member and committee chair of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and has also served on the board of the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce. He is also a proud former two-term President of the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union (SUSK) and, in his youth, was both a member of PLAST (Ukrainian Youth Association) and an active soloist and bandura instructor of the Canadian Bandurist Capella.
“I am very grateful and honoured to accept this opportunity to lead the staff of the UCC,” stated Korbabicz. “I very much look forward to working with the dynamic membership of the UCC, our generous donors and dedicated volunteers – thanks to whom our community is one of the most influential and vibrant in Canada.”
The UCC expresses its gratitude to Ihor Michalchyshyn for his decade of service as UCC CEO. Michalchyshyn stepped down as UCC CEO to pursue new career opportunities.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress reports to the President and Executive Committee of the UCC and is responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.
Since 1940, the UCC has represented the interests of the Ukrainian Canadian community before the people and Government of Canada. UCC coordinates and unifies all major Ukrainian Canadian organizations, promotes linkages with Ukraine and identifies and addresses the needs of the Ukrainian community in Canada to ensure it continues to flourish and enhance Canada’s socio-cultural fabric.
