As many of you already know, Giving Tuesday is the most philanthropic day of the year! In 2023, $3.1 billion was donated from 34 million donors across the world. The Giving Tuesday campaign started eleven years ago and today, many organizations, schools, charities, and churches have Giving Tuesday campaigns.
Thank you to our matching partner – the Ukrainian Credit Union (UCU). The continued support of UCU provides the foundation to sustain the work of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) Charitable and Educational Trust.
This year our theme was HOPE into ACTION. The UCC was formed with the HOPE that our Ukrainian community in Canada would stay strong together and defend Ukraine. Over 80 years later, the UCC and the UCC C&E Trust have transformed that HOPE into ACTION. During our Giving Tuesday campaign, we highlighted the ACTIONS of the UCC C&E Trust, specifically two programs: the Parliamentary Internship Program and the Youth Ambassadors Program.
We are proud to work together with Team Ukraine Veterans to assist them with fundraising for a training camp in Vancouver-Whistler prior to competing in the Invictus Games taking place in February of 2025.
Your generosity on Giving Tuesday raised $34,452, plus the matching $15,000 from UCU, for a total of $49,452! Thank you! Дякуємо!
These are just some of the actions of the UCC C&E Trust. We cannot do what we do without you – our trusted donors. The work of the UCC relies on your support and as UCC Branches continue to open across Canada, there is much to be done. Your generosity is humbling and we know that you value the work of the UCC and the UCC C&E Trust.
May we continue as Ukrainian Canadians to support the Ukrainian Canadian Congress for many years to come, to see and hear the ACTIONS that have been transformed from the HOPE of those pioneers 80+ years ago.
