Today, Russia launched another terrorist attack on civilians in the city of Vinnytsia. Three Russian missiles, launched from a submarine in the Black Sea, hit an office block and residential buildings. Rescue crews are working at the scene. At least twenty-one people – including three children – have been murdered in this heinous Russian attack. Hundreds have been injured and many are in a critical condition.
Earlier this week the attack at Chasiv Yar resulted in 48 civilian casualties. Every day Russia purposely targets Ukrainian civilians with rockets and bombs which kill or injure civilian victims. While the blood of innocent Ukrainians is spilled, Western nations refuse to recognize that Russia is a terrorist state.
The lifting of Canadian sanctions against Gazprom and Nord Stream 1, allowing for the repair and return of Russian turbines in the NS1 pipeline, will continue to feed the murderous Russian war machine. The ongoing revenues that Russia will receive from energy exports to Germany and the EU will be used to slaughter even more Ukrainian civilians.
After witnessing Russian war crimes and crimes against humanity for the past four months it is evident that the only way that Russia will be deterred is with a concerted military response and a complete blockade and isolation of Russia.
The UCC continues to call on Canada and allies to send Ukraine weapons, ammunition and military aid and to designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism
May the Memory of the Victims Be Eternal Вічная Пам’ять!
